[pct-l] Re: forest fees

As a Canadian voice, I would like to add that we have been paying user
fees for as long as I (and my 20 years allow me to) can remember.

I think this is a good thing, as somebody has to pay for it. I'd rather
see the people who get the most from it, give something back to support
the system that makes it possible.

And while I certainly was happy that there weren't user fees on the AT,
(would have broke my budget!) I think it is reasonable to expect them in
dayuse/vacation usage (especially car usage!) in National/State Parks and
Wildernesses.

Hopefully, if done right, it won't be about commercialism, but to
provide for sustainability, and improvements, and expansion of protected
areas.

Frankly, I find it strange that there aren't more fees already.
