[pct-l] New Balance shoes

I do a 300 miler on the PCT every August, and have worn New Balance
shoes for the past several years.  This summer both of us wore NB model
358 and were very pleased with it.  The shoe has an all leather top (no
nylon areas).  In past years we found that the small areas of nylon on
running shoe tops tend to abrade and blow out after a few weeks on the
trail, and leak dirt through so your socks get seriously dirty every
day.  The 358 model doesn't have that problem.  They look worthy to
serve on all the short hikes we will do until next year's big trip, and
our socks stayed much cleaner than in years past.
