[pct-l] RE: Kelty Cloud BP

The Kelty Cloud is a variable configuration Internal frame backpack made of
Spectra. It is configurable from a 1 pound rucksack to a 3.5 pound 4500 cu
in standard internal frame pack complete with professional stays and
hipbelt. In a Thruhiker 3000 cu in configuration with stays and a padded
hipbelt it weighs slightly over two pounds. The difference between this
configuration and a more traditional Backpacker configuration [4500 in cu,
3.5#] is the addition of side pockets, top pocket and back pocket.

I loved the Cloud waist belt. My wife hated it. I found the cloud to be the
first lightweight internal frame pack where I could really carry the weight
high across my shoulders. My wife could not find a comfortable fit no matter
what we did and returned to her Natural Balance Pack.

I believe that the Cloud will work on relatively tall frames with straight
hips but will not work well on short backs or hourglass hips.
