[pct-l] The Lure of the bend

A question to ponder and generate conversation:

What has been your experiences with feeling "The Lure of the Bend"? This is where you are hiking and can see the bend in the trail and wonder 
1.  What majestic views are just around the bend?
2.  Is there a better campsite just around the bend?
3.  If I just go around the bend will I be able to see the trail for miles?
4.  Does the trail finally stop climbing around the next bend?
5.  Is there a spot around the next bend to sit and fix that hot spot?
6.  What will be around the next bend?

I have found this magical lure and wonder what others have to share about its powers. When I was at Sonora Pass a friend and I ran south on the PCT for hours, always deciding to see what was around the next bend. We had a great time.
