[pct-l] Titanium

Your question about titanium and it's strength: not enough information!
THe pressure in the stove is only one item we need to know. What is the
gage of the metal, and what are the dimensions?

Aircraft quality titanium is amazingly strong stuff. Not 30 psi, but
160,000 psi. But that is the "ultimate strength", not the pressure you can
pump into a stove. Calculating the stresses (to compare with the strength)
is not simple. Just for comparison, aircraft quality stainless steels are
of similar strength, and aluminums about half.

The largest producer of Titanium is Russia, by the way. It isn't all that
commonly available but right now Russia is pushing the stuff. So prices
may be more attractive than in the past.
