[pct-l] Blister question
Scott
Blisters are caused by friction and it sounds like you have too much
movement of your foot within the boot. Consequently the top of the heel bone
at the insertion of the Achilles tendon is rubbing against the back of the
boot with every step. The best solution is obviously to find a boot that
fits you well. Second best is to protect the skin that is compressed between
the prominent bone and the shoe. In this case there is a product called
Achilles Heel Pad by Silipos; it’s reusable, and fits like a sock with a
silicone gel pad located at the posterior of the heel. There also gel like
pads made by Spenco (Second Skin) and Dr. Scholl’s (Cushlin) but these would
be difficult to maintain in the proper position for your problem.
