[pct-l] The New, Improved Tuna Can Stove
It's the Cat Stove, which was first seen at the ADZPCTKOP2. It may not be
the lightest or the prettiest, but it does boil a cup (or a pint) of water
the fastest: 2 minutes 24 seconds for one cup in the alcostove contest at
the kickoff party. My new Tuna Can Stove made from cat food cans weighs 1.6
ounces, including the stand and windscreen.
Scott Henderson's Pepsi Can Stove won the best stove award at the kickoff
party. Scott's stove weighs in at .8 ounces and boils 1 cup of water in 3
minutes and 10 seconds. It was beautifully crafted and worked well. I now
have the materials and intend to build at least one of them to give it a
try.
You can check out <A HREF="www.pcthiker.com/pages/gearset.html">Scott's
Pepsi Can Stove</A> online.
I've now completed plans for the new, lightweight version of the Tuna Can
Stove and will e-mail them to anyone who wants to build one. JUST SEND ME A
NOTE AND I'LL FORWARD YOU A COPY OF THE PLANS. The PCT list doesn't
tolerate
attachments (for good reason) or I would just send all you listers a copy.

ps: Troubadour (Stephen Martin) has kindly consented to add my instructions
for building the Cat Stove to his website. He told me the addition may be
done in about one week. Thanks, Stephen! I'll advise the list when it's
available.
