[pct-l] PCT Hike
I just wanted to say what a great job to all that were responsible for
making the kick off a big success. I had a great time meeting new
friends, checking out all the new and homemade gear.
I hiked with my friend Mad Monte Dodge, who I had not seen since
we both hiked the PCT way back in '77 and was glad to see that Greg
(strider) Hummel another good friend I met on the PCT in '77 that I hiked
many miles with, Greg and I also climbed Mt. Rainier that year too.
I also want to say thanks to all the wonderful people I met or hiked with
from
Campo to Cabazon, Tony (Trail Mix) Dilorenzo, Ben (Blue Foot) foote,
Swiss Miss, Luke, Artist, Rosy, and Calif. Dave, just to name a few, and
a huge thanks to Bob Reiss from San Deigo who pick me up at the airport
and then a ride to Campo the next morning.
My plans were to hike for two weeks with Mad Monte and any other hikers I met
along the trail. Boy, have the plans changed, anyway to make the story short
after a week or so of hiking I realized that I had to countunie my hike to
Manning
park.I flew back to Penna. on Sat. May 13, Requested a leave of absence from
my job through May 20 to October 7.
I have my airline tickets and fly into LAX to arrive May 21 at 12:09 AM, and
there's
my big problem, with my friend Greg Hummel being out of town that weekend I
have
no way out to the PCT from the airport.
Anybody out there that could help I would be very thankful and owe you big
time.
Thanks
Jeff Zimmerman
