I am at the moment in Anza at Paul and Pat's having coffee and watching
the rain hit the desert. Had great food here at camp Anza with a good
shower after hiking and counting rattlesnakes the last week and a half.
( saw seven so far ) Tommorow we hit the trail again and go on to
Cabazon. OK all you whimped out little Ultra light fan's. I now have
some killer blister's from using cheap lightweight " Jardine" boots when
I should have just used my old heavier Danners. I have taken over 20
photos of blistered feet from hikers using too light of boots.( just as
bad as when hikers used clunky leather boots ) I've been doing about 18
miles a day hiking with Jeff " Flash " Zimmerman, Tony and Swiss Miss.
I'll be home Monday to give Greg some support with our " heavyweight "
views of modern hiking and why they still carry much merit. Talk later .
ps Corn Pasta is already dead as no one hiking this year can stand it.
Next year the light boots will follow the same path. Mad Monte ( Kamp
Anza is really super and is a MUST SEE for any Thru-hiker )
