never under-estimate little old ladies...
I remember one of my first hikes; I was about 14 years old, it was late
spring, and I found myself slogging through old snow and mud on the way to
Elbow Lake. I was complaining about the trail conditions, and one of the
"Dads" who was patient and kind enough to put up with my attitude, said
something to this effect: "If this trail were paved, there would be a bunch
of old ladies at the end of it!" Well, guess what was at Elbow Lake: A bunch
of old ladies. I learned to shut up, a little bit, anyway.
