[pct-l] Instep Crampons

Marge --

Although I haven't been able to test my Grivel 6-pt crampons in actual
conditions yet, they appear to fit well even on my fabric/leather boots
without all the weight of 12-pts but with a much more secure feel than
4-pts. They're compact and come with a good sack that protects the rest of
your gear.

I ordered mine from the Climb High Retail Store in Vermont,
http://www.climbhigh.com, but I'm sure they're available just about
everywhere.

Thanks for the reminder about Fuller Ridge. There are some looong drops
there topped with slanted, slippery trail!

After an aborted attempt to do the last 20 miles of trail from "the
Fuller Ridge remote campsite" in Section B. I think my next purchase
should be a pair of lightweight crampons, either instep or whatever.
What are some of the disadvantages and where can they be purchased? I am
not climbing a mountain like Mt. Rainier I just want to feel more secure
