My name is Jay Thomas and I live in Austin, TX. Me and a few 
friends are planning on doing the central california section of the 
PCT this summer. I have a question on what sort of special snow 
gear I will need and what type of boots...also can anyone 
recommend some good planning and preparation books?
I am new at this and want to learn alot before I go off on my trip!
