RE: [pct-l] Really? ......

Not that I particularly want to come between you guys pounding it out. After
all it should make for an interesting AZDPCTKO. But I just wanted to mention
the stealth doesn't necessarily mean illegal.

While stealth, by definition, has the mantle of something covert, that
doesn't necessarily make it illegal. In many ways stealth is the ultimate in
LNT camping. It's purpose is to travel lightly through the land leaving no
trace of one's presence.

To be really stealthy, one camps away from established sites in locations
that receive no traffic. In camp one does not cook, clean up, disturb the
vegetation or do anything to draw one's attention to ones self.

I image if people truly stealth camped the number of regulations concerning
back country usage could be reduced. People are forced to concentrate in
limited areas simply because we can't seem to keep from trying to improve on
Mother Nature when we bed down for the night.
