It took me a while to digest Ron Moak's post about the problems with tents.
Reason: I use a Stephenson tent that is made differently from most tents.
While it has a double wall that retards condensation, both the inner wall
and the outer wall are waterproof [the double walls act like a storm window
and keep the tent warmer]. Further, the two walls are permanent -- no more
removing the fly to take down the tent. Compared to Ron's description of a
standard tent, the Stephenson:
1-Stays dry when erecting and disassembling
2-Is large enough to store all your gear
3-Is roomy enough to completely pack your pack while inside the tent.
The 2RS weighs 3# 
The 3RS weighs 4#
Unfortunately, they are pricey. My new 3RS cost $800.

However, as Ron says, If you set it up where a lake will form, you still
won't be dry.
