/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ Point One /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
If your mail program includes a copy of the post you are replying to:
PLEASE EDIT THE OLD POST down to the bare minimum. A long post that is
mostly copies of older posts is called a "barf-back." I have been reading
LOTs of Barf-backs lately.
Everyone on the list reads the same stuff. We remember what your
interlocutor (get your dictionary) wrote: We don't want to have to scroll
through the same junk again.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ Point Two /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
If your mail program has an HTML or formatted text option:
TURN IT OFF.
(This includes the mailers in Outlook, IE, Netscape and possibly Eudora).
Read your mailer help file to determine how to do this.
If you do not, then all the folks on digest (and all those using non-mime
mailers, like most at universities) get horrible, difficult to read stuff
like this:

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
