I used a Sharp TM-20 on my hike as well. Two warnings though. 1) Don't fall
on it! 2) Don't let deet explode all over it!

Aside from those 2 problems which forced me to get a replacement the device
works really well. I did have some problems with certain pay phones not
working with it.
