Obviously Rich and Monte LIKE to pay fees. Seriously, the fees charged in
that part of the woods seem outrageous. In California you can pretty much
get by with a $50 National Park pass. There are no fees that I know of on
the Eastern Sierra except the mandatory fee for the bus ride to Mammoth
trails.
