The Lady Express
takes two hours from Chelan to Stehekin, where it connects with Jim's
Blue Bus to
Stehekin Valley Ranch in time for lunch. I returned on the
bus that afternoon to visit Rainbow Falls, the
Bakery ,
the Post Office to view the recent register entries,
and the store for a beer before boarding the final bus back to the
ranch for dinner and a hot shower and a couple of hours in the library
reading Jardine before retiring to my cabin just as a hard rainstorm hit.
The next day dawned bright and I set off for High Bridge to meet Eric
Jensen and begin our tour of Glacier Peak Wilderness.
