The PCT in Castle Crags State Park is not very scenic compared to the PCT outside the Park, looking in from the Forest Service Castle Crags Wilderness. But there are a number of pleasant cool streams to relieve the almost 5000' upward slog. Fortunately I was going downhill.
And there are some pleasant views to the approaching high country in the west. The trail becomes fairly mundane as it descends down to I-5.
