We had a very sunny lunch at the trail junction. The wooden signs had a marvelous color from the extreme conditions here.
Bill wandered off to move the car.
After a lengthy descent we crossed the perennial stream in Kennedy Canyon. Unlike its predecessor the Tahoe-Yosemite Trail which follows the exposed dessicated but scenic crest to Bond Pass, the PCT follows water into Yosemite at Dorothy Lake Pass.
