The say memory is
the first thing to go. Here is the annual snow
graph. 1995 was one of the highest snowfall
years in the last 25

The snow was so deep that
between KM South and Toulomne I only saw a
handful of people. There were so few that the
backcountry rangers were
super friendly and
just happy to have someone to talk to.
And everyone freaks-out about snow. But snow is
not the problem. The
problem is water.
This was the trail crossing
just past Evolution Meadows. I didn't
cross there, as that would have been fatal. Per
the advice of the
rangers, I swam the creek
upstream in the meadow where the water was
slow, but still deep enough I had to swim.
