The snow was so deep that between KM South and Toulomne I only saw a
handful of people. There were so few that the backcountry rangers were
super friendly and just happy to have someone to talk to.
And everyone freaks-out about snow. But snow is not the problem. The
problem is water.
This was the trail crossing just past Evolution Meadows. I didn't
cross there, as that would have been fatal. Per the advice of the
rangers, I swam the creek upstream in the meadow where the water was
slow, but still deep enough I had to swim.
