[pct-l] DeLorme inReach Explorer

Dear PCT-L,

I was asked by a friend overseas to purchase one of the last few DeLorme inReach Explorer at an REI sale but it turned out the product has already been used before, so I am not sure about it’s condition.
I can’t replace the product since it is no longer on sale (except the much more expensive Garmin one). So I am trying to figure out if it’s working, but it turns out nothing can be done without activating the device.
Does anyone know of a way to test it?
