[pct-l] The Sierra Thaw has started...

I have been up in the high country throughout May and have been watching the river/creek heights slowly rising while paying attention to the morning’s frozen snow and when it becomes soft enough to start postholing. May started out with weird fluctuations in both nighttime and daytime temperatures as well as blatant weather, snow storms followed by hot days.

However, the current nighttime lows at altitude are no longer dipping way below freezing and the creeks are beginning their crescendo, so the Thaw is on, folks! Now, it’s just a matter of time and weather before the snow disappears from the passes!
