[pct-l] Old Station to Dunsmuir

I hiked that section last year. There was poison oak around but I didn't
think it was that bad and no worse than any other particular section of the
trail. For the most part the trail was in good condition but there were a
few short stretches where the brush was overgrowing the trail. I thought
the section from Burney Falls State Park to Dunsmuir was really beautiful
with lots of nice views of Mt. Shasta. Also Dunsmuir is a great little
trail town.

Please give us a trail report when you get back.

I think I'm going to hike this section in three or four weeks. I hiked part
of it back in august 2005 and remember the area around the MCloud River to
be rife with poison oak. I felt like I was dancing down the trail in many
spots - avoiding the thigh/waist high bushes.

Did anyone hike this section last year and be able to comment on how much
the poison oak overhung the trail? Maybe some trail maintenance was done
(I'm wishfully hoping).

Thanks...
