The best action is to be aware of your surroundings and be especially careful if you encounter bear crap.  Bear crap looks a lot like dog crap but is usually bigger.  Black bear crap and Grizzly bear crap appear similar.  Black bear crap is smaller and contains lots of squirrel fur and berries.  Grizzly bear crap is larger, contains little bells and smells like pepper.
