[pct-l] The MYTH Continues: Section F Questions (DayLate07 .)

Noon to 4 siesta? Really? I had that plan when I started NOBO at section F in late August 2014. I thought it felt hot the whole time the sun was up. Hiking at night was great but trying to sleep in the heat of the day was impossible. It was a wonderful hike and I'd do it again but I might have planned differently if I'd known I couldn't just take an afternoon siesta and move on (comfortably). FreeRange

A lot of hikers do this portion of the trail at night or at least late into
the night.  Outside of the winter months the Mojave can be "Africa Hot"
even in the spring and fall.  If you are there and its looking Africa Hot
just hike in the early morning and evening.  It is actual a
pretty easy part of the trail to do at night.  Siesta  Time from noon till
4ish.
