Yes it did, but this article is 3 year old news about an even older
lawsuit - does it really matter?

Unless these folks have actually filed another lawsuit then this is
moot. Also the suggested "workaround" of a more limited private ferry
would be of little use to a PCT hiker, since they would most likely
not be a member of the private group that could use the private ferry.

I think this whole thing is funny because normally the people fighting
against the "gub-ment" like the armed group that occupied the Malheur
National Wildlife Refuge, are complaining about he federal government
encroaching on "states rights." This group fighting to run the ferry
is saying the opposite: that the feds should have power over state law
because of the 14th amendment. Usually the 14th is seen as the enemy,
since it dramatically expanded the power of the federal government
over the states.
