Bears were active at Spanish Fingers in 2010. About a day south of KM south.

Bill - in 2014 I saw bear tracks along Holcomb Creek and at Bird Spring
Pass. Bears certainly are present. But they are not known for raiding
food bags, and most folks just keep their food in their pack. However, I
have heard that the raccoons at the Whitewater Preserve can be pretty
atrocious.
