[pct-l] Average male waist size

I was sectioning through the north Sierra in '06 and pitched next to a guy
who was extremely large. He was SoBo from mid Oregon and carried a by then
tattered newspaper article from his hometown paper with his picture. He was
 400 lbs in the pic and had lost well over 100 lbs as he was then, and you
can probably imagine ( He was wistfully recalling a spaghetti dinner at
Pooh Corner during breakfast) he was very determined and swore he
wasn't going to quit until he hit his ideal weight. It was pretty
impressive. He said it was pretty slow and arduous in the beginning and his
clothing size can only be imagined. (The Alpine Knitting Society from that
year's class was passing through then and they would have crossed trails
with him, as well)
