[pct-l] Glasses or contacts

Depends on what type of contacts. I've worn rigid gas permeable contacts for 30 years as I'm very nearsighted as well with strong astigmatism which soft contacts don't deal with well.

I replace each pair of my contacts about once a year, and clean them each day. RGP contacts don't have to be kept as sterile as soft contacts. It takes a while to find a good eye doc that knows the nuances of these types of lenses, though.

I now use glasses that darken in sunlight(transitions). Have a back up pair that could be sent to you if needed. The earpiece broke on mine on my last hike. Be incredibly careful in cleaning them. Avoid easily scratched coatings like anti glare.
