I used Mr Blacks book. It worked for me.

It leaves a lot of room for discovering things like springs and ridges on your own.

But hey, do you need to know everything in advance?

Hello, I am planning to use Eric The Black's Atlas, 2nd edition, ( 4 years
old ) for my thru hike this year and wanted to ask if this edition is TOO
outdated, or if I could still use these maps and info? On a tight budget
and don't want to spend another $200. Thanks!
