Anything that gets people out on the trail to increase awareness and funding for its continued existence is a good thing in my book.  I'm not sure the PCTA's current love affair with popular literature whose topic is basically drug addiction and infidelity is a sustainable model for raising funds.  I think the PCTA would be better served by promoting the multi use aspects of the trail in the Ultrarunning circles.
