[pct-l] Guitar Lake to Whitney conditions

I was up in Cottonwood Lakes Basin and Miter Basin over the last week 
and people were going over Crabtree Pass, Army Pass, and we went over 
New Army pass  - there is no snow except going over the cornice at Army 
Pass.   There is NO snow visible anywhere from Rock Creek south to 
Cottonwood Pass where we exited.   it's HOT and dry.   The tarn a 
quarter mile south of the sequoia park/national forest boundary is bone 
dry.  Chicken Spring Lake has a 20' wide bathtub ring and the outlet 
stream is dry.  There is NO snow visible from 395 on any of the peaks in 
the Whitney area.  Call the ranger station for latest news...
