[pct-l] Tuolumne Overrun by Thrus

Haven't had a chance to read all yet but I doubt the reason for closing the
mountain shop and gas station has anything to do with PCTers.

If you look back 35 years to 1980, the National Park Service adopted a
visionary master plan for Yosemite National Park that looked to a future in
which visitors could step into Yosemite "and find nature uncluttered by
piecemeal stumbling blocks of commercialism, machines and fragments of
suburbia." Major progress in reaching this goal, particularly in Yosemite
Valley, was to be achieved by 1990, the park's centennial year.

Progress toward the goal of the 1980 'master plan' has been achieved in
agonizingly small increments and obviously all the components of this
'master plan' still have not been achieved but today Yosemite is a somewhat
better place for the improvements that have been made.

The closing of some of these 'amenities' by the Park Service (if they
happen) is more likely just another step in achieving the goals of the 1980
'master plan.'
