[pct-l] Powerhouse Fire Closure

Actually I looked at the topo and USFS maps and I misspoke. (The topo map
is available at the USGS website, or you can download it directly at
http://ims.er.usgs.gov/gda_services/download?item_id=5636801)

7N23 isn't the same as Shake Canyon, it is west of Shake Canyon, and it
does cross the PCT.

Road 7N34 leading into Shake Canyon is about 1000 yards before 7N23, street
address is roughly 21025 Pine Canyon Road, and there is a good view of that
trail leaving the road on Google Street view. I have not idea what the
trail condition in Shake Canyon is like, but It's a mile as the crow flies
from the road to the PCT, and 700' elevation gain.

So for me I'm planning on maybe 11 to 12 miles of road hiking, getting off
the PCT at 41291 San Francisquito Canyon Road (mile 478), then getting back
on at 21025 Pine Canyon Road and walking up Shake Canyon past Upper Shake
Canyon campground at rejoining at mile 494. You could hike further on
the PCT past SF Canyon Road, but you can't exit without turning
around--it's a cul-de-sac.

Thank you, Ravens for finding this. I was not thrilled about doing a
straight-across-the-Antelope-Valley walk down a long road.
