[pct-l] Campo lodging/logistics

I am looking to do a section of the PCT starting on 4/22/15.  I plan to be in the San Diego area on 4/21/15.  Where is a good place to stay that night and get to the TH fairly early the next morning?  I don't plan on having a vehicle.  Thanks in advance.  I tried the search function, but didn't find an answer (one old unanswered thread and 2 unrelated).  Also, Do you know who I would contact fro that permit (only going about 220 miles).
