At the Adzpctko in 2009 Strider came over and sat down with me and my
newfound tribe while we were eating.
What a generous person and very kind.
I remember Bob Dole asking me to tell him my personal mantra for the trail,
then only a week old as we had ridden back from Warner Springs for the KO.
I told him; "We are so lucky to be here and be hiking this trail."
He said he was very glad to hear that.
I remember his smile that day.
It was genuine and heartfelt.
On the grass at lake Morena.
100's of hikers and good folks gathered around.
The whole sun filled summer ahead of us.
And the trail.
All of it reflected in that smile.

Glad i got to meet him.
