[pct-l] No resupply in Lone Pine?

Brick is correct.  Taking Trail Pass down about 1 000' in elevation to Horseshoe Meadows campground will put you on the only road down,down, down to Lone Pine, about 20 miles or so.  I don't advise walking it because there is no shade anywhere, and almost no shoulders either.  If there are day trippers at the campground, getting a ride down the mtn is not difficult.  If there aren't, there's a ranch a few miles down the road where they are hiker friendly.  They might give you a ride down.  Once in town the Mt Whitney Hostel is cheap, clean, and centrally located.  Getting back up the mtn may be iffy since few cars are going up to the campground.  You could stick your thumb out and hope for the best.  Last year at least there was a guy who charged something like $80 to drop you off at the campground.  He has a website, something like East Sierra Shuttle or something like that.
