re: PCT Water Map. Very nice work. How did you derive your output from 
the PCT Water report and Halfmile maps? Would it be possible for you to 
publish the points as a GPX file?

I've done something similar for "Peru" and her CDT hike this year, see: 
http://thetrailunitesus.com/water/ and select the GPX file link. For 
that data we used blue=good, yellow=uncertain, red=bad, and 
white=unknown. I'd be willing to work with you on creating something for 
the PCT.
