[pct-l] Camping Near Campo?

Arriving from San Diego on Friday evening aboard MTS Bus Route 894 to start
the trail (no Saturday service, and you want an early start anyway), you
need a place to crash.  But Campo doesn't seem to have much to offer.
 Presumably, camping between there and the border isn't advisable if you
want any sleep.  Sure there's no water anywhere, but how about dry camping
in a one-man tent near Highway 94?  Any other ideas?
