[pct-l] Bear cans/bags

We have a family friend who has worked as a Yosemite backcountry ranger. He 
has told us about escorting hikers out of the backcountry because they 
didn't have a bear canister. He probably issued a ticket also.

We were stopped 3 times in Yosemite to check for a permit & canister, both 
borders & in Tuolumne Valley.

The rangers are serious. Get an approved canister and your permit. Yosemite 
is beautiful - don't cut your trip short.

We were only stopped twice for permit checks on our entire hike - right
after we crossed into Yosemite and right before we crossed the park's
northern border.  It was obvious that they were looking for hikers trying
to sneak through without a can.
