I have no special interest with "the wild", but I am always struggling with
transferring all the pack weight to the hip bones and the clavicles,
because I am doing sightseeing trips, and frequently carry my wife's stuff
and food. I love external frame packs, but time changes. Well-designed
inner frame backpack can handle very heavy load.
The remodeled Carson 90 is here:

( sorry, explanation is written in Japanese ) I sometimes use this to buy
one week food at the supermarket. Regrettably, I seldom use this in the
wilderness.
At present, my most favorite soft pack is Osprey Volt 75.
The remodeled version is here:

( explanation was written both English and Japanese ) I can carry around
35 kg by this backpack. In this summer, I have decided to use this backpack
in USA.
There are many well-designed soft packs, which can handle very heavy load.
Osprey Volt 75 ( 60 ) may be the one of the good backpacks.
