Hi everyone,

Just returned back from my first and short (only 5 days, sadly) trip out to
the PCT. It was such a fantastic experience--I was sad to leave and am
already looking forward to when I can go back. We went from Lower Echo Lake
to Barker Pass; my boyfriend and our friend are out till Squaw Valley and
come back tomorrow. This was my very first backpacking/ backcountry/
more-than-a-day-hike adventure and I couldn't have hoped for a better
experience.

We met some amazing thru hikers and TAs who made the experience truly
special and left us wanting more of the PCT.

I wanted to thank everyone on this list who gave me tips, directions,
pointers, and help of various kinds. Truly I don't see how I could have
planned and prepared so well without your assistance. I am especially
thankful to Sierra Guy for giving us rides and tons of help with our
itinerary, and to Happy Nomad and Storytime who let us share in some trail
magic on my last night. Everyone we met out there was incredibly nice and
put up with our questions and requests for stories about their hikes.

We couldn't have asked for better in terms of weather, scenery, camp spots,
people we met... the whole works. Looking forward to a longer trip in the
near future : )
