Snark not intended....just stating the facts.

In re the comment made recently (and several in the past) more or less stating "don't start new threads when replying" to an existing post.

Well, not everyone gets all the e-mails directly from the list - last thing some folks desire is dozens of e-mails a day pouring into their in box.  Some folks may only get the digest (you can see these, when they reply to the digest - folks, when you do, please change the title and DELETE those parts you're not talking to).  Some folks don't even bother with the digest and read directly from the archive.  So when they respond to the list, it is, by definition, starting a "new" thread.

Does that mess up some folks automated way of organizing things?  Yep.  Welcome to the Wild West that is the PCT-L.

The work around -  get in touch with your old school search function, the Mark 1 Tabular Sorting Computer (Brain) + quantity of 2, Mark 1 Vision Device (Eyeball)  - reading the post titles / subject lines in the archive.  I'd suggest sorting by date so that you can see the replies after the post you're interested in.

YMMV.  PYOP (Post your own post). And a bit tongue in cheek.

PS - in re local colloquialisms.  A poster on another board I read thought everyone knew what "prang" meant in the context of cars.  It had to be explained that it was a New Zealand / Australian term meaning a car crash with minor damage (e.g. equivalent US colloquialism of "fender bender").
