Hi , Anne.
Let me be the first to reassure you that taking a break to be in/attend a wedding is common enough that it should have been included in the Two Minute Survey. ("How many zeros did you take to be in/attend weddings? How many days of recovery were needed?") Lots of thrus are in what my friends and I referred to as The Wedding Zone. (My bank account and I are glad that we have since left The Zone.)
Have fun! You will be the bridesmaid with the best legs, the weirdest tan, and the most difficult hair. ;0D

Does anyone have experience taking a break from the trail for an event like this? The wedding will be in the Santa Cruz area so it's a real shame (for me) that I will have passed there by then.
