Is it logical?  Long-distance hiking isn't logical in the first place, for typical definitions of logical. A four month thruhike is doable - people do it every year. Not everyone would be capable of it or enjoy it but if that's what turns your crank then it's perfectly reasonable.

I personally subscribe to the theory that the last one to Canada wins, but HYOH.
