Palm Springs is closer as the crow flies, but you have drive around
the mountain to get there from Idyllwild, which makes it a toss up as
far as driving time goes.

If you exited the trail in the San Jac area via the Tram down to Palm
Springs, instead of from Devils Slide down to Idyllwild it would be a

That being Said, Ontario is a much larger, better served airport
