Owen,
Techachapi has bus service to Bakersfield. Amtrak goes to Richmond from
Bakersfield or you can fly United to SFO from Bakersfield. Currently I am
available on/near 6/21 if you would like a ride from the trail near
Techachapi or as far north as Walker Pass to Bakersfield. Let me know by
email so I can calendar it.

Owen,
Any route that will drop you into the San Joaquin Valley would probably
get you to a town (such as Bakersfield, Fresno, etc.) where you could catch
Amtrak to Richmond. There you could transfer to BART to get to many parts of
the bay area.

I have a sort of similar question. I'm hoping to leave the trail briefly to
make it to a wedding in San Francisco on 6/21. What's the best way to
accomplish that? Greyhound bus? And what's a realistic place near the trail
I could catch one from at that date?
Thanks,
