[pct-l] Snow Advice on OR and Washington PCT 2015

 Yes, you have control of your hike, but you are not entitled to something specific.  
I hiked from the CA border to Manning Park in both 2012 and 2014.  My hike was 3 days faster this year due to less snow cover.  I would have been faster in 2012 with a good gps (with tracks) and traction device like Kahtoola microspickes.  I was an additional half day faster due to less zero's (nero's).  
Both hikes I left the CA border about July 10.  
Now is 2015 going to be more like 2012 or 2014?  
Your assumed speed is very slow.  Are you out of shape, do not like to hike or do you need to party in town?  Or are you being conservative because you are starting too early?  
So, do everything you can to deal with snow:  Start at least two weeks later, get in better shape, use a good gps and snow equipment, and if possible practice hiking on snow.

Thanks very much for excellent advice from Andrea Dinsmore, Ned Tibbets and 
Jerry King in response to my post on the 19th.

Apologies for this resend of my advice request (below) for a HIGHWAY 95 (CA-OR 
border) to MANNING PARK trek this summer beginning June 15 and ending August 
31st.  If anyone has additional experience, suggestions advice I would be very 
grateful ? especially about snow conditions and being well prepared for dealing
